To Work with the Action Recorder
Start, stop, or cancel macro recording; copy existing macros; and change the location
where macros are saved.
Start Recording an Action Macro
- Click Manage tab Action Recorder panel Record.
- Use the commands and provide the input that is needed to complete the task that you
want to automate.
Stop Recording an Action Macro
- Click Manage tab Action Recorder panel Stop.
- In the Action Macro dialog box, Action Macro Command Name box, enter a name for the
action macro. - Optionally, do the following:
- In the Description box, enter a description for the action macro.
- Under Restore Pre-playback View, select When Pausing for User Input to restore the
view prior to the playback of the action macro. - Under Restore Pre-playback View, select Once Playback Finishes to restore the view
prior to the playback of the action macro. - Select Check for Inconsistencies when Playback Begins to have the Action Recorder
validate the action macro before playback.
Copy an Action Macro to Create a new Action Macro
- Click Manage tab Action Recorder panel Manage Action Macros.
- In the Action Macro Manager, Action Macros list, select the action macro you want
to copy. Click Copy. - In the Action Macro dialog box, Action Macro Command Name box, enter a name for the
new action macro. - Optionally, do the following:
- In the Description box, enter a description for the action macro.
- Under Restore Pre-playback View, select When Pausing for User Input to restore the
view prior to the playback of the action macro. - Under Restore Pre-playback View, select Once Playback Finishes to restore the view
prior to the playback of the action macro. - Select Check for Inconsistencies when Playback Begins to have the Action Recorder
validate the action macro before playback.
Change the Action Macro Save Location
- Click the Application menu Options.
- In the Options dialog box, Files tab, click the plus sign (+) next to Action Recorder
Settings. - Click the plus sign (+) next to Actions Recording File Locations and select the path
that is displayed. - Click Browse.
- In the Browse for Folder dialog box, select a folder. Click OK.
- Click Apply.
